تحت رعاية سمو الشيخ حمدان بن زايد آل نهيان، ممثل الحاكم في منطقة الظفرة، تنطلق بطولة الظفرة الكبرى لصيد الكنعد، بتنظيم من هيئة أبوظبي للتراث، ومجلس أبوظبي الرياضي، ونادي أبوظبي للرياضات البحرية، في الفترة من 10-12 يناير المقبل، بالتزامن مع فعاليات مهرجان الظفرة 2025، وذلك على شواطئ المرفأ و كورنيش أبو ظبى و جزيرة دلما، وستشهد منافسات بين الصيادين المحترفين والهواة للفوز بجوائز قيمة.

ويأتي تنظيم البطولة بهدف الحفاظ على الموروث البحري في إمارة أبوظبي، ولدعم تنظيم رياضة الصيد التقليدي بما يعكس قيم الأصالة والاستدامة وحماية البيئة، ولإضافة بعدد جديد للفعاليات الرياضية التراثية البحرية والتي تحظى بشعبية كبيرة في الدولة، بما يتماشى مع الأهداف الاستراتيجية لهيئة أبوظبي للتراث.

وتأتي هذه البطولة ضمن سلسلة بطولات إمارة أبوظبي لصيد الكنعد، وتشكل إضافة نوعية لفعاليات إمارة أبوظبي البحرية، وتنسجم مع أهداف هيئة أبوظبي للتراث بتعزيز الهوية الوطنية والحفاظ على التراث البحري الغني، وتشجيع الأجيال الجديدة للحافظ على الموروث الثقافي الوطني، وتعزيز مكانة إمارة أبوظبي كوجهة تراثية ذات مكانة دولية.

كما ستسهم بطولة الظفرة لصيد الكنعد في تنشيط الحركة السياحية في منطقة الظفرة، وتعريف الزوار بثقافة الصيد التقليدية في الإمارات، وتعد حدثاً رياضياً وترفيهياً، يعكس اهتمام إمارة أبوظبي بالحفاظ على تراثها البحري، خصوصا أن منطقة المرفأ تعتبر منصة مهمة لتجمع الصيادين المحترفين والهواة، بما يتيح لهم فرصة للتنافس وإبراز مهاراتهم.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, the Al Dhafra Grand Championship for Kingfish Fishing, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, will be launched from January 10-12, coinciding with the activities of the Al Dhafra Festival 2025, on the beaches of Al Mirfa, Abu Dhabi Corniche, and Dalma Island. It will witness competitions between professional and amateur fishermen to win valuable prizes.

The championship is organized with the aim of preserving the marine heritage in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and to support the organization of traditional fishing sports in a way that reflects the values ​​of authenticity, sustainability, and environmental protection, and to add a new number to the marine heritage sports events that are very popular in the country, in line with the strategic objectives of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority.

This championship is part of the Abu Dhabi Emirate Kingfish Fishing Championships series, and represents a qualitative addition to the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s marine events, and is in line with the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority to enhance national identity, preserve the rich marine heritage, encourage new generations to preserve the national cultural heritage, and enhance the position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a heritage destination with international standing.

The Al Dhafra Kingfish Fishing Championship will also contribute to stimulating tourism in the Al Dhafra region, and introducing visitors to the traditional fishing culture in the Emirates. It is a sporting and entertainment event that reflects the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s interest in preserving its marine heritage, especially since the port area is an important platform for gathering professional and amateur fishermen, giving them the opportunity to compete and showcase their skills.
