A desert dune run – 5 KM race across sand dunes in Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve
Al Marmoom Dune Run is region’s number one sand dune run taking participants across and over a challenging desert terrain. The run will take place Saturday 15th February 2022 in Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve.
Trophies are awarded for the top 3 rankings in each race category (male & female) and all participants receive finisher medals.

HEALTH ADVISORY
The health and safety of all participants, spectators, visitors, event management and crew is our highest priority. Regarding the COVID 19 pandemic, we will follow the guidelines and protocols stipulated by the UAE Ministry of Health & Prevention and Dubai Health Authority to ensure that every precautionary measure is implemented and adhered to in line with the UAE Government regulations.
Adherence to the 2 metre social distancing rules, regularly sanitizing and wearing masks at all times (unless engaged in a sports activity), will be strictly enforced.

• Who is eligible to enter the run?

  Eligible participants must be aged 15 years and over. Participants below 18 years of age, must obtain parent’s/guardian’s consent to enter.

• What are the run categories?

  Open 5 KM male & 5 KM female

• Run pack/numbers collection details?

  All successfully registered participants will receive their run pack on the event day during registration.

• Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

  Difficulty: The run route will take participants across and over a challenging desert terrain

  Participants must follow the route as marked out by the organizers, passing at a maximum distance of 5 meters from the markers. Failing to do so may incur penalties. The course will be clearly marked approximately every 60 - 100 meters. The organizers will provide briefing outlining the route conditions and there will be constant monitoring of all the runners during the run. Any participant withdrawing from the race must notify a race official as soon as possible.

  5:00 AM - Registration opens
  6:20 AM - Registration closes
  6:30 AM - Run briefing \ warm-up
  7:00 AM – Start open category 5 KM
  8:30 AM - Awards ceremony
  9:30 AM – Al Marmoom Dune Run 2022 ends

  Official results for the run will be posted on the event website and social media platforms.

• When is the registration closing?

  Tuesday 9th November 2021 or when Al Marmoom Dune Run capacity is full.

• Ranking & prizes:

• Parking and Wheelchair:

  There is plenty of parking space and wheelchair access at Expo 2020 Lake Parking

• What is the cut off time for the run?

  Run to be completed in 1 hour 30 minutes
  
  Any runner who exceeds the maximum authorized time shall be disqualified with a DNF (Did Not Finish) and must return their bib to the steward. Any runner who arrives at a check point/finish point after the deadline shall be disqualified.
