Ladies and gentlemen, cyclists and enthusiasts, welcome to the exhilarating "Cycling your way to Health & Happiness" event, proudly brought to you in conjunction with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, ACTVET, and the Institute of Applied Technology. A beautiful day to celebrate the joy of cycling and the pursuit of well-being on the 21st of April 2024, at the scenic Al Hudayriyat Island. With three captivating categories to choose from – the 10km Fun Ride (FCHS-ACTVET Staff & Students ONLY), the 20km Cycle Race, and the challenging 40km Cycle Race – there's something for every rider, from the casual peddler to the seasoned competitor. But wait, thrill-seekers, there's more! In the midst of our Fun Ride, we present the coveted 'King & Queen of the Hill' awards. Will you be the fastest to ascend the 321 Sports Bridge and claim your royal title? So, tighten your helmets, check your gears, and get ready to embark on a journey of health, happiness, and adrenaline-pumping excitement. Let's pedal together towards a brighter, healthier future. On your marks, get set, cycle! *Participants should bring their own bicycle. Bicycles can also be rented from Wolfis close to the start line, but should be arranged before event day*

• By what time should I arrive at the event venue?

  Please arrive at the venue no later that 30 minutes before your start time.

• What is the event day program?

  Be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the start of your respective race.
  
  2:00pm - RACE PACK collection OPENS (closes at 6:00pm)
  3:45pm - RACE PACK collection CLOSES (for Fun Ride ONLY)
  4:00pm - 10km FUN RIDE starts
  4:40pm - 10km FUN RIDE CUT OFF TIME
  4:45pm - 40km RACE starts
  5:00pm - 10km FUN RIDE Award Ceremony
  6:15pm - 40km RACE CUT OFF TIME
  6:30pm - 20km RACE starts
  7:15pm - 20km RACE CUT OFF TIME
  7:30pm - 40km & 20km Award Ceremony (approx)

• Where do I go for the event?

  Please see the Event Location map on this page. Start/ Finish location is close to Abu Dhabi Cycling Club HQ at Al Hudayriyat Island cycle track

• What are my options for parking?

  Please follow the marshals' directions and signs to the designated parking area. Parking is outside ADCC HQ

• BIB Number collection details?

  Your BIB number will be available for collection close to the start line as per the Race Day Schedule. Race Pack Collection will be outside Abu Dhabi Cycling Club HQ on Al Hudayriat Island.
  • BIB numbers will be sent to you via SMS the night before the race, please know your bib number before you arrive at the BIB collection desk
  • You must have checked in and received your BIB 30 minutes before your ride starts

• Are there bag drop facilities?

  No there will be no bag drop at the event.

• Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

  There will be water stations in the race village and out on the course.

• Bike Rules:

  Bike direction will follow the normal traffic direction
  • All participants shall wear a protective helmet, undamaged and unaltered, which meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
  • The helmet must be fastened before the participant first mounts the bicycle; at all times when the participant is on the bicycle and must not be unfastened until the participant has dismounted.
  • Cyclists must travel in an anti-clockwise direction on the track and stay on the track at all times.
  • Slower cyclists should stay on the RIGHT (outer edge) of the track to allow faster riders to pass on the LEFT (inside edge)
