Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim is set against a magnificent backdrop and is the only chance to swim around the iconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. Hundreds of participants of all abilities participate in 1600 meters or 800 meters swim in this fun-filled community event with emphasis on health and fitness. Organised by Wild Wadi in partnership with Jumeirah Group, all funds raised at the event will be donated to Al Jalila Foundation to support obesity research.

• Where can I find my results and timing certificate?

  Results are available on www.premiertiming.com Each participant's result has a small rosette icon next to it; from this link an individual's timing certificate can be downloaded.

• How old do I need to be to participate?

  Minimum age to participate is 16 years and one of the parents or guardians must sign the waiver (if you are between 16-18 years old)

• Can I register on site in the morning?

  There will be limited registrations available on the day up until 30 minutes before the start of the race. Please arrive early as this process is more time consuming for you; pre-registering online is recommended.

• How will I know that I am in the correct category?

  By Swim cap (RED =1600m and BLUE =800m) and matching wrist band. Please do not remove your wrist band throughout the event.

• How will I know which way to swim?

  During race briefing the routes will be explained and we will have kayaks and boats out on the course to keep everyone on the route. The 1600m swim will start to the left of Burj Al Arab for all swimmers wearing Red Swim Caps. The 800m swim to the right of Burj Al Arab near the marina wall, for all swimmers wearing Blue Swim Caps. • How deep is the water and can I swim if I have no professional training?

  This is a swimming race and all participants are expected to have a minimum standard of swimming skills. It’s an open water sea swim event. The 1600m route behind Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel is deep and we would recommend that to more experienced swimmers. 800m route is also in open water where the water depth can vary up to 6m deep. You are the best judge of your swimming capabilities. Please don’t underestimate the sea or overestimate your skills.

• Can I take part if I am slow in swimming and do not want to compete?

  Yes, in this case we would recommend that you sign up for 800m race.

• Can I wear a wetsuit?

  Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is up to (and including) 24.5 degrees Celsius (76.1 Fahrenheit) or colder.

• How can I enter Wild Wadi and when can I use my free access?

  Free access is for all participants and it is valid only on the day of the event (8 March 2019). Please do not remove your wrist band as this will be your ticket to the park.

• Can I bring a guest with me?

  Yes, you can bring two guests to support you at the Race and your guests can enjoy 50% off on entry fee to Wild Wadi on the Race day (8March 2019). Supporters need to keep their wristbands on to get discount in Wild Wadi.

• When can I enter the Wild Wadi?

  The park is open from 10AM until 6PM, you may enter anytime, but make sure you keep your wristband on to get free access.

• What will be available at Race village?

  Shaded area to sit down, photo booth, refreshments and kids bounce castle play area

• Is there a place to leave my bag?

  There will be designated bag drop off area at the Race village.

• Do you offer shower facilities and changing rooms?

  Outdoor showers and portable washrooms will be available. There will be no designated changing room area.

• When will the race finish?

  Most swimmers are expected to finish by 9AM

• Is the Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim supporting any charity?

  All funds raised through the Dubai Holding Burj Al Arab Swim 2019 will be donated by Dubai Holding to the Al Jalila Foundation to support obesity research and work towards awareness, education and treatment of obesity in the UAE.

• Am I required to present a medical fitness certificate to register?

  Participants 65years and above need to present a medical fitness certificate signed by a Physician and this certificate needs to presented on the day of the event
