As part of the UAE Tri League, this Super Sports organized GRIT+TONIC.com Mamzar Triathlon offers an action-packed morning of open water swimming, biking and running. Perfect for first timers, offering fast times for the advanced, and are therefore ideal for all ages and abilities. Enter a relay team of 2 or 3 athletes. This unique beachfront course and spectator friendly route has plenty of sea views and palm tree lined roads.
The swim course offers calm waters in the lagoon with plenty of lifeguards. For the bike, there are double lane roads closed in both directions to traffic and a designated running track that follows the beach ensuring a safe and fun race for all. Music, lots of aid stations, supporters and a real community feel makes these triathlons special.

• How do I find my race number?

  Race Numbers will be allocated once entries close and be available for download as from midday on the Friday before the Race.

• When is race pack collection?

  Race Packs can be collected from Race Check In on the morning of the race from 5am – 6.15am. You must have checked in and received your timing chip 40 minutes before your race start. Once you know your race number, proceed directly to the Race pack collection desk and collect your race pack.

• Data check - Did I register with the correct date of birth and gender?

  When collecting your race pack, you will be asked your full name, gender, and age. This is to check that you are collecting the correct race pack and that you are not entered into the wrong age category or gender. Please assist our staff with this data check to ensure the correct race results are recorded for all participants.

• What are the course highlights?

  Plenty of lifeguards in the calm water of the lagoon, roads closed to traffic for the bike, lots of marshals ensuring a safe and fun race, finishing on a run track with views of the beach and sea making it a scenic course.

• Where do I park?

  The closest parking areas are a 5 to 10 minute walk or shorter if you cycle.
  Allow yourself enough time to make the trip from the parking area to Transition.
  Park in parking bays before and after the Transition Area.
  
  DO NOT PARK IN THE BELOW AREAS OR YOU WILL RECEIVE A FINE:
  On any pavements.
  If you drive up the bus lane, that is for busses only.
  Private boat parking yard where the SLIPWAY is for boats only.

• What is the race day program & timings?

  Be checked in at least 40 minutes before the start of the race. There is NO on-the-day registration.
  05h00 – 06h15 Race check In Opens, Transition Set Up, and Warm-Up. All competitors need to be checked in before 06h00 as roads leading to the start/finish area will be closed to ALL traffic as from this time.

• What about race numbers and timing chips?

  Timing chip must be worn on left leg for the swim, cycle and run.
  Bring your own race belt to attach the race number to.
  Race number must be worn on back side for cycle and on the front side for run.
  Race numbers are different colors to indicate to marshal which distance you are doing.
  Race numbers and timing chips to be returned after finishing the race.

• Wetsuits and Race belts:

  Wetsuits are allowed for race 2 and please remember to bring your own race belt.

• How easy / difficult is the course?

  Flat and Fast, perfect for first timers to elite triathletes

• Will there be bike mechanics?

  Pre-Race: Velo Presto mechanics will be available from the beginning of registration on race day to assist with any basic repairs and maintenance on a first-come first-served basis. They will not be able to assemble bicycles or carry out any complex or time-consuming repairs e.g. hydraulic systems etc.

• When is the Tshirt collection?

  Please hand in your T-SHIRT VOUCHER to collect your t-shirt at race pack collection. Voucher can be found inside your Race Pack.
  No voucher, no shirt!

• When are the cut off times?

  If you do not complete the swim and bike within 2h15 mins from the start of your swim, then you will be marshaled back into transition to start your run.
  
  This cut off time is enforced by the Dubai Police as they need to open the roads for general public to use and all cyclists have to comply. You are then allowed to complete the run course and will receive your finisher medal and race result, however you will not qualify for any prizes as you have not completed the full course. Make sure to choose a distance where you can complete the swim and the bike within 2h15 mins.
  
  The final cut off time for the race is 10.30am, however if possible, you will be allowed to complete the course while the venue is being packed up. Contractually we are obligated to start vacating at that time and if we do not we can be fined or have our permission to host the event retracted by the municipality.

• What are the support stations and where are they placed?

  2 x water stations on the run course as well as other refreshments at the finish line.

• Are there any Family Discounts available?

  Family discounts are available for families of 3 or more wanting to enter this event, and are ONLY for parents and THEIR children and is offered by Super Sports to make it more economically viable for the whole family to participate. To avail of the family discount, please email [email protected], so that the family discount code can be given to you.

• How do I change distance?

  Sign into your account. Go to the event on the home page. Click on Manage Registration. Click on Change category. Change to a different distance.

• Bike Hire – Velo Presto

  If you would like to enter the triathlon but do not have a bike then please contact Velo Presto to arrange for a bike hire (whats app +971 50 275 8969; www.velopresto.cc). Bikes will be available for collection on the morning of the race. Please book your bikes sooner than later to avoid disappointment.

• What to do on arrival?

  Make sure you get there extra early to have a calm and relaxed race. It is a 5-10min cycle to the race village from parking. Park your bike next to race pack collection. Collect your race pack and collect your shirt. Head to transition and rack your bike at your allocated number. Place small kit under your bag and larger bags on the sidewalk of transition. Make sure all valuables are left in your car, or out of sight, do not leave on your bike. Head to beach for briefing. Watch the sunrise and get ready to race.

• ProChips Timing tags

  To be worn on your LEFT ankle throughout the race. Please only use the timing tags supplied to you at Race Check In. You are racing with ProChip timing chips, please make sure that you hand these in once you have finished racing, otherwise you will be charged the replacement fee for the chip allocated to you – AED250.
  No chip, No time, No result!

• Transition for Athletes only.

  Please not that only athletes are allowed in transition – no spectators or parents can enter this area once the race has started as we have had feedback that the transition is overcrowded by non-racing individuals. As an athlete, once you have finished racing you too are not allowed back in to transition until it opens to allow those still racing a clear path through transition.
  Any spectators, parents or athletes not adhering to this will have their athlete disqualified.

• Where can I find the results?

  Please scan the QR codes in the Race Village to view your result once you have finished running. Full results will be on the Super Sports website as soon as possible at SuperSportsUAE.com – Race Results.

• Where can I find the race photos?

  Photos can be found on your results page by clicking on the CAMERA icon and then doing a bib or selfie search. Photos will be available 6 hours after the race has finished. Individual photos are not included in the race fee nor guaranteed.

• Any additional information participants should know about?

  All information regarding the Race (Race Briefing, Race Course etc.) can be found in the Event Downloads section of this Race (on the right side of this page), so ensure you have a clear understanding of the rules and regulations as well as what the course will look like / entail.

• Why have I not received any race emails from the event organizer?

  Race emails are sent during the week of the event. Make sure to register with the correct email ID so that you receive these emails. Please note company email ID’s are often blocked by the company service provider. If you do not receive these emails, please check your spam, junk or promotions folder and mark us as ‘not spam’ to ensure that you receive future race information emails from us. If you still have any trouble with this, please contact us on [email protected].

• Refunds/Cancellations

  Once entries close or the event is sold out, no refunds are possible for whatever reason which includes and is not limited to: change in personal circumstances, sickness, travel restrictions, or any circumstances which may prevent you from participating in the event.
  Unclaimed race packs including shirt and medal will be forfeited in full after the start of a respective distance.

• Important Information

  • Participants who are more than 5 minutes late for the start of their respective distance will not be allowed to participate.
  • Once entries close or the event is sold out, no refunds are possible for whatever reason which includes and not limited to: change in personal circumstances, sickness, travel restrictions, or any circumstances which may prevent you from participating in the event.
  • Unclaimed race packs after the start of a respective distance will be forfeited in full.
  • Finisher medals are given on the finish line and only to athletes who complete the full course. All members of the relay team will receive a medal and a shirt.
