Join us on Al Hudayriyat Island for the IHC Cycling Challenge Race 1, with race distances of 10km for beginners, and 30 km - 60 km for all ages. What's better than to start your day with an energy boost as you take in the mesmerising skyline of the nation's capital as it flies by

• By what time should I arrive at the event venue?

  Please arrive at the venue no later that 30 minutes before your start time.

• What is the event day program?

  Be at the venue at least 30 minutes before the start of your respective race.

  6:15am - Race Pack collection CLOSES
  6:30am - 60km RACE starts
  6:40am - 30km RACE starts
  6:55am - 10km RACE starts
  9:00am - Race CUT OFF

• Where do I go for the event?

  Please see the Event Location map on this page.

• What are my options for parking?

  Please follow the marshals' directions and signs to the designated parking area. Parking is outside ADCC and Wolfis.

• Race Pack / Number collection details?

  Your race number and timing chip collection are close to the start line as per the Race Day Schedule. Race Pack Collection will be outside WOLFI’S BIKE SHOP on Al Hudayriat Island.
  • Race numbers will be sent to you via SMS the night before the race, please know your bib number before you arrive at the race pack collection desk
  • You must have checked in and received your timing chip 30 minutes before your race started.

• Are there bag drop facilities?

  No there will be no bag drop at the event.

• Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

  There will be water stations in the race village and out on the course.

• What estimated time will the event finish?

  The cut off time for the event is 9am allowing 2 and a half hours for 60km participants and 2 hours and 15 minutes for the 30km participants.
  Please keep this in mind when registering for your event.

• Where can I find the results to the event?

  then look for your event and enter your bib number

• Are TT bikes allowed?

  TT bikes are not allowed in this race.

• Start Times:

  07:00am 60km Start - Start Chute Entry from 06:55am onwards
  07:10am 30km Start - Start Chute Entry from 07:05am onwards
  07:30am 10km Start - Start Chute Entry from 07:25am onwards
  Start Procedure: Each distance will start together as a mass start (please wear your mask until the 60 second call before the start) – rider will be lines up 3 across the track with 3m between rows of riders. All races will have a neutralized start and the racing will start when the green flag is waved at the start arch.
  Rules:
  There will be no in race communications between riders using headsets. No support cars allowed during the race. No blocking the track deliberately by teams (DSQ of whole team).
  • Gun time will be used for this race
  • Once you cross over the start mats, this tells the timer that you have started that race – on the GUN time.

• Volunteers:

  Please thank the volunteers as they are volunteering their own time to help you enjoy your race and get you home safely to your families. Please also respect the host community as we are guests and please adhere to best practices to help protect others. You MUST wear an appropriate mask whilst moving in and around the venue prior to the start of your run. Whilst running in your race you may remove your mask but please remember to maintain the noted distance between runners and allow adequate spacing when passing other runners. Bag Drop - There will be NO bag drop onsite.

• Timing Chips and Race Numbers:

  • Timing chip is attached to a velcro strap and to be worn on your LEFT ankle and please RETURN after the race.
  • IF YOU RACE WITH NO CHIP – YOU WILL RECEIVE NO TIME AND NO RESULT!
  RACE BIBS
  • Bibs must be worn along the midline of your back or slightly to the right on your back so officials can easily identify you.
  • Safety pins are in the envelope or use a race belt.

• Bike Rules:

  Bike direction will follow the normal traffic direction
  • All participants shall wear a protective helmet, undamaged and unaltered, which meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
  • The helmet must be fastened before the participant first mounts the bicycle; at all times when the participant is on the bicycle and must not be unfastened until the participant has dismounted.
  • Triathlon time trial bikes are NOT ALLOWED or BIKES WITH AERO BARS.
  • No tandems, recumbent and fairings, or any add-on devices designed exclusively to reduce resistance are allowed.
  • Solid disc wheels are allowed.
  • Any new, ‘unusual’, or prototype equipment will be subject to a determination of legality by the Chief Race Referee.
  • Athletes must be individually responsible for the repair and maintenance of their own bikes. Assistance by anyone other than technical support officials will be grounds for disqualification. Cyclists should be prepared for any malfunction
