This isn't your typical hike. We're not here to convince you—if you want an easy, breezy trek, this event isn’t for you. But if you’re looking for something tough, something that will push your limits, something that is truly rewarding then welcome to the 2025 edition of the Skyline Ridge Hike in Hatta.
This one off event with its rugged 8.5 km route will test your strength, stamina, and spirit as you tackle the steep 500m of ascents and descents. Hike along Striding Edge and through Windy Pass up onto the Skyline Ridge. Along the way, you'll be treated to jaw-dropping views of the mighty Hajar mountains.
Trust us, this isn’t just a hike, it’s an experience.
The distinctive route continues by taking you down from its high point of 675m and guides you east through the iconic Hatta Sign before descending back into Wadi Hub.
While you'll need to be self-sufficient on the route, be sure to take advantage of our feed and rest stations, where you can refresh with ice-cold water and a selection of dried fruits.
Start anytime from 7am onwards, with the last start time at 12:00pm.
Hike at your own pace but be prepared for between 2.5 to 4 hours of continuous effort.
No need to worry about getting lost or how much further you have to go—the whole route is clearly signposted, with scenic rest stops, feed stations, and plenty of photo opportunities.

By what time should I arrive at the event venue?
You can start your SkyLine Trail hike anytime after 7pm. Registration takes approximately (but hopefully less than) 30 minutes. The registration areas will be open from 06.00am and close at 11.30am. The start area in Wadi Hub has toilets and Hatta Wild Cafe. These are open from 6 am. Wadi Hub has significant car parking.
You can literally start you hike from the large start area anytime between 07.00 and 11.59. You decide.

First hikers are able to start at 07.00 from Wadi Hub. You decide when you want to start and it can be anytime after 7am and before midday.

Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?
The Skyline Trail has full support throughout its entire length. There are a total of 3 refreshment areas providing bottled water and a selection of dried fruit energy snacks. The locations of the three refreshment stations are at the start of the hike in Wadi Hub, at the foot of the long climb and finally at the foot of the iconic Hatta Sign.
Paramedics and Guide marshals will be on hand to assist as necessary.

What estimated time will the event finish?
The event is scheduled to finish sometime around 4pm. The Skyline is not a race and 4 hours to complete the hike is, for the majority ample time. Sunset on the 15th February is approximately 18.10. All participants must be off the mountain before Sunset. Last time to leave the start point in Wadi Hub is 11.59.
