The World Triathlon Championship Finals is coming to Abu Dhabi's Yas Island from 23 - 26 November 2022 and you could represent UAE Triathlon in the Standard Distance Triathlon or Aqua-bike World Championship Race.
Furthermore, selected TEAM UAE members can choose to race in the Super Sprint Time Trial World Championships, a brand-new inclusion in the Championship Finals that is taking place 2 days prior to the Standard Distance races.
Note: Pre-qualification does not guarantee you a place in the UAE Team, but provides a chance at selection and indicates your interest and commitment to race in November.

• 1. When, where and what distance is the 2022 World Triathlon Championship Finals?

  The World Triathlon Championship Finals is coming to Abu Dhabi's Yas Island from 23 - 26 November 2022.
  The Age Group World Championship Race will be an Olympic Distance: 1.5km swim | 40km cycle | 10km run
  
  You could represent UAE Triathlon in the Standard Distance Triathlon (1.5km swim | 40km cycle | 10km run) or Aqua-bike (1.5km swim | 40km cycle) World Championship Races.
  
  Furthermore, selected TEAM UAE members can choose to race in the Super Sprint Time Trail World Championships (400m swim | 10km cycle | 2.5km run), a brand-new inclusion in the Championship Finals that is taking place 2 days prior to the Standard Distance races.

• 2. What are the pre-qualification criteria for Team UAE?

  Emirati and UAE Expat eligibility:
   Valid UAE passport or residency visa, and an Emirates ID
   Age 18+
   UAE Triathlon member (click here to register https://uaetriathlon.ae)
   Meets Olympic Distance qualifying time/standard (result from a verified UAE Triathlon event listed below)
   Does not belong to a National Federation*, or NF other than UAE Triathlon

• 3. What is the process for Team UAE qualification?

  • Meet the pre-qualification criteria.
  • Meet the Olympic distance qualifying standards as stated by UAE Triathlon below. The time recorded must be from a recognised UAE Triathlon event, with a verified Olympic distance race time from one of the listed qualifier events.
  • Register your Team UAE Pre-Qualification criteria and intent to Race in September 2022 if you raced in a qualifying event earlier this year. October 2022 times must be registered immediately after the completed event due to tight deadlines.
  • Review of criteria and next steps to be communicated by UAE Triathlon.
  • Team UAE selection process and notification by UAE Triathlon*.
  *Team UAE selection criteria will be decided and reviewed by the Organizer at its sole discretion. The fastest times will be selected based on the slots available in each age group.

• 6. How many Team UAE slots are available per age group?

  Up to 25 athletes per gender, per AG* and per event. The more popular AGs will be allocated additional slots at the discretion of the host federation.

  Pre-qualification does not guarantee you a place in UAE Team, but provides a chance at selection and indicates your interest and commitment to race in November. Those with the fastest times in their respective age groups that have registered for pre-qualification and their intent to race will be notified of Team UAE selection.
