Ladies and gentlemen, cyclists and enthusiasts, welcome to the adrenaline-pumping kickoff of the 2024 UAE Tour Challenge series! We are thrilled to invite you to the first event of the series, set to take place on the scenic and dynamic Al Wathba Cycle Track on January 20th.
The 2024 UAE Tour Challenge - Event 1 is a sprint cycle race designed to push your limits and set the tone for an exciting year of cycling adventures. Whether you're a seasoned racer or just discovering the thrill of competitive cycling, this event is crafted to cater to all levels of skill and passion. 60km SPRINT - Perfect for those looking for a burst of speed and intensity. 90km - ENDURANCE, A longer route for cyclists seeking a more demanding test of stamina.

• By what time should I arrive at the event venue?

  Please arrive at the venue no later that 30 minutes before your start time.

• Where do I go for the event?

  Please see the Event Location map on this page.

• What are my options for parking?

  Parking is available at the ADNOC service station at the track entrance

• Race Pack / Number collection details?

  Your race number and timing chip collection are close to the start line as per the Race Day Schedule.
  • Race numbers will be sent to you via SMS the night before the race, please know your bib number before you arrive at the race pack collection desk
  • You must have checked in and received your timing chip 30 minutes before your race started.

• Are there bag drop facilities?

  No there will be no bag drop at the event.

• Will there be support stations? If yes, how many, where, providing what support?

  There will be water stations in the race village and out on the course.

• What estimated time will the event finish?

  The cut off time for the event is 11:30am allowing 4 hours for 90KM and 3 and 50 minutes for the 60KM participants. Please keep this in mind when registering for your event.

• Where can I find the results to the event?

  then look for your event and enter your bib number

• Are TT bikes allowed?

  TT bikes are not allowed in this race.

• Finisher Medal:

  At the completion of the event participants can collect a finishers' medal from the Marshal team at the exit of the track

• Volunteers:

  Please thank the volunteers as they are volunteering their own time to help you enjoy your race and get you home safely to your families. Please also respect the host community as we are guests and please adhere to best practices to help protect others.

• Timing Chips and Race Numbers:

  • Timing chip is attached to a velcro strap and to be worn on your LEFT ankle and please RETURN after the race.
  • IF YOU RACE WITH NO CHIP – YOU WILL RECEIVE NO TIME AND NO RESULT!
  • Please make sure to return your chip otherwise you will be charged for it
  RACE BIBS
  • Bibs must be worn along the midline of your back or slightly to the right on your back so officials can easily identify you.
  • Safety pins are in the envelope or use a race belt.

• Bike Rules:

  Bike direction will follow the normal traffic direction
  • All participants shall wear a protective helmet, undamaged and unaltered, which meets or exceeds the safety standards of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
  • The helmet must be fastened before the participant first mounts the bicycle; at all times when the participant is on the bicycle and must not be unfastened until the participant has dismounted.
  • Triathlon time trial bikes are NOT ALLOWED or BIKES WITH AERO BARS.
  • No tandems, recumbent and fairings, or any add-on devices designed exclusively to reduce resistance are allowed.
  • Solid disc wheels are allowed.
  • Any new, ‘unusual’, or prototype equipment will be subject to a determination of legality by the Chief Race Referee.
  • Athletes must be individually responsible for the repair and maintenance of their own bikes. Assistance by anyone other than technical support officials will be grounds for disqualification. Cyclists should be prepared for any malfunction

• Are bike rentals available?

  Yes, rental bikes are available from L'Oxygene at Al Wathba track. Please arrange your rental PRIOR to race day
