International Universal Health Coverage Day - Walk the Talk
In 2018, the same year that Universal Health Coverage Day was declared an official U.N. awareness day, WHO hosted an inaugural Walk the Talk event in Geneva.
In 2019, the Walk was held in New York City’s Central Park. This year, the Walk will take place for the first time in the Middle East, at Expo 2020 Dubai!
Now you have the chance to be part of the Expo 2020 edition of Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge. Join Walk the Talk at 9AM on 12 December 2021 and celebrate the importance of health. Walking, jogging, dancing and moving, participants of all ages and abilities will join together to call for better health for everyone, everywhere.
In collaboration with Expo 2020 Dubai, the UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention and the World Health Organization (WHO) have arranged this Health for All Challenge, inviting frontline workers, their families and the wider community to walk in solidarity around the heart of Expo 2020 Dubai and take the steps needed to reach the “triple billion” goals by 2023.
Anchored in appreciation and gratitude for their unwavering dedication during their fight against COVID-19, this event aims to gather 300 frontline workers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities together with their families to make a statement that everyone should have access to the care they need, when they need it.
Healthcare workers are encouraged to wear their white coats and scrubs. Delegations from country pavilions are also welcome to join the walk and are encouraged to carry their country flag.
There is no better way to start your day at Expo 2020 Dubai than walking in solidarity for health for all!
Come and join us at the start line!
