I completed the sprint distance and would have been on the podium in my age group and we only found out at the end of the medal ceremony that the AG athletes for sprint and super sprint distances will not be recognized. We waited there 3 hours because of this lack of information. It was super frustrating and disappointing as they should have been straight forward with us about this rather than wasting our”

“The race itself was very nice, location wise. But- little to no information given out before the race. Using IG is a nice idea to support* giving information, but race packets are to be given days before a race, organizers- come on. I contacted their IG account for information on timings- no response. Course needed one more water station, 100%. Way too hot for one. And the bike route change added almost 3km to the route, which, as some people said, is quite significant if you are trying to PR. ”

“Great location however the following made it one of the worst Triathlons I attended Pre-race communications almost non existent. One water station on hot run Had to wait one and half hours after the finish for prize ceremony which started 30min late. Either only recognize overall winners and non of the age categories. Or recognize all categories. Only Olympic distances was given awards in age groups. Sprint and super sprint was not mentioned and no AG timing available. Wont attend again ”

The most disappointing thing about this event was that awards were being given to each age group. They weren’t. I travelled to Fujairah from a country outside Dubai to attend this event because I thought I would have a chance to place in my age group. I would not participate in this triathlon again. ”

“Everything about the event was fantastic until around 8:30 once we finished the race. We were told there were age group awards by many staff for sprint and super sprint so we hung around for the awards ceremony. This ceremony was not to celebrate the athletes - it was to celebrate the sponsors and all for social media. We waited 5 hours for the worst ceremony and there were no age groups. ”

“I was really impressed with the set up. Loved how it was next to the hotel so washrooms and cafe etc all available before and after. Ample parking. Staff were great and the swim was lovely. The bike course was longer than 40km according to my computer and everyone I spoke to thought it was about 42km. This is a little disappointing for someone just starting out in triathlons who is trying to beat PBS each time. It was still quite warm so maybe more than one water station would have helped ”

“Very limited to zero information pre-race, race was ok, no bag drop, now shower or changing area, swim was ok, cycle good, run ok some areas full of mud. Prepare yourself for 100% sun not one meter of shade.”
