“Nice Race and Place - Even the weather didn't allow us swimming, the race was good!”

“Event should have been cancelled - I came back earlier from Berlin only to participate in this event. Nobody can complain about the weather but I don't understand why the event was not completly cancelled like all other outdoor events at this week-end (also color run with much more participants the day after). I stood up at 4:45 and had to accept that driving to Emirates Palace would be too much risk. No communication from the organizers about event cancellation. An aquathlon always includes a swimming part. ”

“Should have been cancelled - This is normally a brilliant event, however, with thunderstorms predicted, the event should have been rescheduled or cancelled. No communication was sent beforehand, despite the bad weather the day before to say whether it was continuing or being modified.”

“Download from the cloud, as real as it gets - I was disappointed by cancellation of the swim. It was a liability avoidance decision, but not thoroughly thought through as it wasn't safe either to run on a slippery course or barefoot on the unprepared beach. The run was just too easy to justify the beating taken. If there are T-shirts I'd like to receive mine. However, it was a unique experience. I had fun running in the rain with so many people. My love goes to volunteers and marshals, real spirit! I wish everyone not to get a cold!”

“Weather happens, but could've been handled better - Today wasn't much fun - the weather wasn't your fault, but communication about what was happening because of the weather was poor. Despite the lightning/thunder, no message was sent in the morning about whether the race was on or not. I cut my foot pretty badly on a shell for the improvised beach run (track wasn't cleared, and had to run without shoes so there could be a "transition"). Didn't get a t-shirt. Results took all day, and still no photo link. But volunteers were troopers in the rain!!”

“The organizer doesn't have sense of responsibility - What could be worse than road accidents, a drowning kid or a permanent display caused by an injury while running in a slippery course??? All for the seek of participating in a sport event? The warnings of the bad weather was announced 3-4 days ago and still the organizer decided to go out today!! What to say!! Shame on all the sponsors. Am not commenting on any thing else as nothing as important as the safety of people and families showed up today to have fun and support their kids. ”

“The race was not what it was meant to be - I'm very disappointed that the race changed from what it was supposed to be. I mainly wanted to take part in this race for the swim as training for an upcoming triathlon with primer online,only to arrive to find this part of the race was cancelled. I believe that the cost of the event outweighed the total event ”

“Inadequate Help from Event Staff - Make things easier, not more difficult. Provide water, for the transition, (i.e., between the beach swim and the run). Some of the event staff made it seem as though taking some of the sea water was impermissible. ??. Provide extra swimming goggles, just in case. Some of the event staff giggled at the thought of a child forgetting her goggles and when asked for an extra pair they simply replied with "I don't know." I'm not sure if I believe in Karma, but the weather worked in my daughter's favor”

“Great event despite bad weather! - The event could have been postponed due to thunderstorm and showers. Adding a beach run instead of a swim not so good but good enough to accommodate last min switch for safety. T shirts were not given out to all participants specially the first waves any possibility to collect? Please advise. Thanks to all the volunteers and marshalls waiting in the rain. Keep up the good work.”

“Cloud seeding problems. - Hi, as I'm reading comments I have just come to know about t-shirts & giveaways after the race - how can I collect mine? The weather absolutely ruined the fun. It wasn't a good decision to cancel the swimming, either keep both for whom wishes to participate with clear instructions. That was a stubborned decision to not postpone it for next weekend bc we all paid 180 to swim & run, grounds were very slippery. Keeping the shoes off at the starting line was not necessary anymore hence no swimming.”

“A bit messy - I dislike that swim was cancelled. I still didn't receive my time and it's not in the web (it's almost 5pm). Was there a Tshirt?????? I can't believe I didn't get one, can you mail one for me? Size M please. Only got the Water bottle. Course was not ideal but I enjoyed running in the rain, the view from the far end roundabout was nice. Volunteers were very supportive. I'm upset that I don't know the timing. ”

“Bummer! - An Aquathon without the aqua. Instead, a day that had organizers and staff running around and athletes battered by the poor weather conditions. This event should have been cancelled. A few athletes managed foot injuries from the beach run. Watching the poor marshalls standing out in the wind and weather was a bit appalling. I don't feel this event served anyone. I'm sure this is a fantastic event when the sun shines and the weather plays along. Unfortunately not a good first experience.”

“Very disappointed - I injured a foot by this event. Marble had a part, and the course of the E P was very slippery. I hit the player whom the neighbor had when I ran, and I let a foot slide and have been hurt.Become the thunder, and run in a rainy day on that day; was played a game. I made a gap, and were you not able to hold time? It was crowded very much as much as there was not swimming. If I made a gap and held time, it was possible for the swimming and was not crowded. Of the next year want to refer to it.”

“I was disappointed that this was not a full aquath - First of, there was no swim, instead we ran on the beach. There was no gift pack or a t-shirt like mentioned. It was not a nice day out. This would of been better if they made this event occur the week after due weather conditions. It was not worth $180. I hope it will turn out to be better next time (:. ”

“Beautiful venue, great course and brilliantly orga - Info Pack could have been updated, a few people were asking around to make sure the timings etc were correct as the race fpack was from last year. The tips and what to bring were really helpful!! I'm very happy that I took a basin of water with me :) Medals great The collection of t-shirts etc was very slow. The volunteers were packing the shirt etc into the bags which was taking ages, it would have been a lot faster and less of a queue if there were two lines and the goodies just handed out.”
