“Loved it - The venue was in the middles of no where, but once there it took no time to get to the race village and racked. It took less time to leave and you didn't have to cross athletes to get in or out as it was a separate road. Sure would have been nice to have more spectators but I loved that venue...and it was a very fair course...took three newbies with me and they loved it.”

“A great event to start the season - Overall the event was great, however there are some details to be adjusted. -Swim: I understand the purpose of the swim shape to give spectators more view of athletes but it should be reshape in order to avoid athletes to run too much on the beach and overtake swimmers. -Bike: It's an Olympic distance so why are time trials and aerobars allowed ? In any world organization drafting on a road bike in OD is allowed not in Dubai, why ? CHANGE THE FILIPINO allocated at traffic cones on her phone.”

“Great event - A bit of a hassle getting there but it was worth (maybe more detailed info about the location? I thought I was lost). Good idea of an early start but commence the briefing in time to give the opportunity of a last minute toilet stop and some swimming warm up. White buoys 300 mt apart at sunset were not really easy to spot: maybe put extra two in the middle? Overall was an excellent experience ”

“Well organised, poor location and surface - No taxis anywhere... miles from anywhere... super hard to find, you think your going to the edge of the world, no lighting in the dark. lucky a very nice man gave me and my bike a lift back to civilisation, I owe you bro x. very poor surface in places but well marshalled, not enough crowd support due to the location. i applaud the volunteers and organisers for working with what they were given but it could have been so much more ... location location location. ”

“A fantastic event at a great venue - Quite a remote venue but great to have the closed routes for racing! There was some confusion at the Olympic swim start as I don't think the horn was loud enough and the route was diagonal to the first buoy, not the end of the world though. Another great event by Race ME!”

“Brilliant event! Awesome location. - Finally a new location for a Tri!! So the directions to the start weren't perfect in the dark, but you did send a map...I thought it was great to swim on that beach, not in the Mamzar pond. All away from traffic..fine a few potholes, but not the end of the world! Brilliant that the organisers could pull off getting that location from Nakheel. Great not being run over by cars while cycling. Well done. Always room for improvement but really good for a start! ”

“Terrible access to the location - Please make it easier for people competing who are coming to watch to find the place - no sign posts - terrible roads to get there. Also cycle route has some interesting pot holes/speed bumps in on the track. Good all round event - pity about location. ”

“Maybe one too many events - Credit to Race ME team for working hard on the day as always. However I feel that there may have been one too many events on the day and there was a lot of confusion at the start of the race. Especially with both of the duathlon races. Triathlons seemed to be more organised. ”

“Pre race course instructions will do better - Very difficult venue to find in the dark and for families coming to cheer afterwards. The event itself was really nice in a secluded area without problems with traffic and cars. Great gifts from organization. Honestly I would cut the gifts and decrease the registration fee which I found high. Swimming course for sprint felt longer than 750m Overall great effort keep it up guys”

Because i am small, the marshall wanted me to cut it short and i had to insist so that he would let me run the 2.5km. Good I knew exactly the route otherwise i would have been cutting it short. Also tee shirts are great but way to big for kids. thanks for organizing it. I had lots of fun.”

“Thanks for a great event - Just a little difficult to hear the PA system sometimes, probably my hard of hearing! A map of the 3 sections of the event posted on a board at the event itself would be really useful I think for all participants, just to get familiar with the course visually and I think this would compliment the audio instructions. ”

“Great event for all levels - Great job of turning this desolate piece of desert into a top notch triathlon village. A bit of confusion about the swim course for the first wave. Perhaps it could have been avoided by better graphic representation in the pre-race material. It was not clear from the briefing doc. The bike course was good, under the circumstances and very well marshalled. On the run, the volunteers at the aid station could have been a bit more attentive. I saw quite a few who did not get water as requested.”

“1st Time Tri Guy - Excellent Experience. - 1st experience and loved it. Well organised if not a little tricky to get to. Briefing's a little long winded but in good spirit. Good process from registration through to prompt timing results. My big concern was the positioning of the medical cover. As a medic myself I was concerned to see the lack of strategic cover. There should have been a presence on the beach and ambulances placed strategically along the bike and run course. Looking forward to the next event. Big thanks to all involved.”

“Well put together - For a remote site and a bit tricky to get to the course was easy to run. The transition area was good of a good quality. Guys your verbal briefs are too long use a big picture or keep it simple. Marshalls and volunteers were very good, kudos to the mum who was busy picking up cups that people were dropping in the aid stations.”
