The excitement and enthusiasm of the organisers and the amazing volunteers and sweeper was infectious. You swear as you scale those hills and stumble on those rocks, but smile with tears in your eyes and want to hug the world when you cross the finish line, knowing that yet again you have conquered the biggest rival: yourself.”

“Brutal. Hot. Tough. Worth it! - What a 25km trail run that was (was it a run?). I estimated that we ran about 7km from 25km and the rest was walking, mountain climbing etc., which, for me was the disappointing factor. I love trail running but that was more like rock climbing than trail running. The heat was intense and added a further level of complexity to the race - and even though I felt it started late (7am) it would have made little difference if we started at 6:30am. The UU team are FANTASTIC and the marshalls are MAGICK”

“Nice event , bad weather - The event was well organized and the staff was very supportive as always. I enjoyed it overall. Main issues are: 1-The track was not suitable and very rocky. 2-The weather was too hot especially for the 25k and 45k runners. 3-Some areas were very rocky and completely inaccessible in case of emergency.”

“Hot,hard and enjoyable. - A great course to test your nutrition and hydration strategies however the course doesn’t offer to much running due to the terrain. A bit disappointed to have the course (45k) shortened but I understand the safety factor. All the staff were very helpful and friendly at all stages. Well worth taking on the challenge for the adventure.”

“Unrealistic Expectations - The event was wall staffed, supplied, and marshaled. The course was far too difficult for a 7 hour cut-off in the 30+ degree heat. There was not enough runable segments, the flat lands were too rocky and technical to run for the 45K route. It should have been a 10 hour cutoff minimum.”

“Great event - Tougher than i thought - Painfully enjoyed every bit of it. :) Signage could have been better at junctions but since it was the inaugural for this trail, it's alright. One thing though, why was someone testing the race pressure horn like a million times at midnight while knowing there are race participants camping in the area? Thanks for a great event.”

“great fun - tough - Just a minor note - markings at the "rope" sections could have been better. I thought there was only one and missed the second one. When one person misses a turn, everybody (me included) follows them, rather than thinking for themselves. This led to a slightly dangerous scrabble up a loose slope. Altogether though it was a great event. Congratulations to the organisers.”
