“We were not welcome even though we drove all the way from Dubai starting at 3 am. We arrived at the bib collection at 5:31 and the staff refused to give us our bibs saying we are 1 min late. The bib collection as per email ended at 5:45 am. After asking for our bibs kindly there were no T-shirt sizes available except for large which was too big. This is a paid race and we should get the T-shirt we asked for and also feel welcome coming all the way from Dubai at this hour. Divya”

“Beautiful place like that organization was horrible. 1. the parking lot was full, in the race info the organizers were not bothered to mention there is a 2nd parking that was empty on race day because majority of people parked in an illegal manner which results in 500 aed fine. Secondly, the volunteers are RUDE, kindly have friendlier volunteers behind the counters of the vitamin water + others, i was reading the bottles and comparing which one i should buy, both fat girls told me to move away!!”

“Overwhelmed staff on race day. No crisis management when over 30+ people who paid for the half marathon could not get their bibs, as counter was closed before 5:30. Helpless no-communication, no solution was offered within 10 minutes before the start. If you behave like managing a major race, than act like it. Gun start was risky & not organized. Just lazy & cost-cutting! Start track: posts in the middle of the pathway were not secured & were seen last second - CRAZY !! Unprofessional !”

“Bib collection before race day was difficult. Location should be in the city for easy collection of bib. On event day the time for bib collection was too early. Got very few photos of the run. More hydrolytes/energy drinks to be arranged by sponsors. The run should.bave arranged little earlier as it was very hot when the sun rose up.”

My daughter has represented UAE in skating competitions internationally- but unfortunately because it is not a popular game in UAE- there is no BAND TRACK - because of which kids are suffering internationally.”

“Requesting you to please - have the prizes as per age categories only- overall prize winners can be a bonus if at all required, because one of my daughters friends is 11 yrs old and came 2nd in overall category - but was 1st in her age category. It is not fair for small kids to be counted in overall age categories. ”

“They closed race pack collection at 5:45 sharp for everyone, even those whose race was more than 1h later. We were denied our bibs and T-shirts. It is unusual for fun events to be this strict. We ran without bibs anyway, but this did spoil the fun and the privilege to be ranked. Runners train for upcoming marathon on these events, but organisers also train for crowd control. Crowding everyone to collect bibs so early in the morning, just to roam around for an hour, is not optimal for safety.”

If my race starts at 6:30am, you cannot expect me to be there before 5:30am just to check-in. What if my race was 2.5KM which starts at 7:30am, should I come then at 5:30am and wait for 2 hours at the venue. This is something such a big event should be considering. Absolutely disappointing.”

Pre-race information could be better (eg cut-off times, race rules, etc.), need more space after finish line, water stations could offer more options (energy drink /electrolyte), more distance markers (1 every kilometre), toilet facilities along race route must be clearly marked. “The event organisers could not provide the BIB even though it is available right in front saying cut off time is over. Still managed to run my half marathon. First time this type of attitude seen by the organisers in my 20 years of running. Being considerate towards the fellow runners makes this type of events makes more successful and spreading peace. “There was not sufficient parking for the event - when we arrived for the 5k event at 6.20am, the car park was completely full and there was no overflow parking option. “The race director shut registration at 5:25 earlier than advertised despite there still being people in the queue . He refused to listen to anyone and started shouting. Many people left disappointed. I have run 100s of event all over the world and never witnessed anything so strange towards paying customers. I was unable to get number and official time.”

“Counter for the race pack collection was closed at 5:45am and I just reached at the same time while 10km race was about to start at 6:30am. Although a lot of participants were requesting for the Bib but the management lady was not showing flexibility and didn't give race pack. This was very disappointing as we woke up at 4am and came for race this is what we see from management. We came with family for fun and such type of things disheart. ”

“The event was Okay, but it should be better with better arrangement of electrolyte water in WS and standby medic for each 5KM in HM route. Yesterday I couldn’t find any medic within the route specially after 10KM with the high humidity, many people fill tired and for me as example couldn’t find anyone or medic with a spray to reduce a cramp.
