“I enjoyed the swim, very pretty location. The music made it fun and lively! The ladies toilets were quite a distance away and quite hidden, so I had to skip that. I would have enjoyed a more interesting route, swimming further away for 3.2k rather than just round n round. It was sad there was no prize giving for the winners (not me!). This is all about the momentum, picking up a prize the next day is so different. At the JLL and the Oceanic triathlons this was all perfectly safe and possible. :)”

“Loved 3.2km distance. Very well organised. Felt safe. My only criticism is that the fee for underground parking is extortionate and should be subsidised. 2hrs 5 mins for 60AED! The poor swimmer infant of me lost his token and had to pay 250AED. There is not enough overground parking. It would put me off, honestly. The fee is high enough for the swim. Thanks for the great event besides this. ”

“It would have been a 10 if the swim exit and swim entry were separate. Swimmers trying to finish had 200m racers coming towards them and then couldn’t run up the finish chute.”

“Badly planned and very boring 5 laps for the 3.2 Km race. Some ideas that might help: 1. Have the 200m with the kids swim to a separate route not interfering with the other races. 2. The 3.2Km race could be 2x1.6Km with exiting the sea and going back in so nobody would lose count of the ridiculous 5 laps. 3. The 400m should never be at the same time with any other race since there was a clash on the route. 4. Count the distances properly because I was informed that the mile race was pretty short”

“It may be be better to have a separate arrival lane from the start lane: arriving for the last 100m of the 3.2km to a wall of swimmers setting off was not ideal. otherwise, everything else was very well organised.”

“A great even all round. Without understanding the logistics and limitations, I would say that if a longer course (less loops) was possible, then for the 3.2km swimmers this would be somewhat more enjoyable. Speaking with a few friends, we all had to take a quick stop to check watches for distance. Also, as much as we know the info was presented in the documents and mentioned on the day, but with the excitement (even fear for some people) of race morning, many were confused with the swim exit.”

“I would suggest upon entry we enter an ‘estimate time’ you could then use this to stagger the entries more accurately instead of having lots of little children running to the front. We could be given a block so ‘block a please make your way’ now ‘block b’ almost like boarding an aeroplane. On the whole it was a super first experience! ”
