“Timing issues but a great event - Not sure what happened with the splits for T2 and the run, but my overall time appears to be accurate. The swim course felt VERY long and the long run to T1 was painful on bare feet, but otherwise I really enjoyed the event and the course was fantastic. ”

“Great race with a little room for Improvement - Great location exactly 1 hour drive from Dubai. Good sheltered open water swim location. Transition was far too tight and was a bit of a mess by T2 and after the race. Bike and run courses were well marked but would be better without runners having to stop for cyclists to pass. The Marshalls on the cyclist / runner / driver intersection deserve a medal as it had the potential to go very wrong but they managed it well. Finish chute and race village were nice. Overall a great race, will be back.”

“One of the best racing experiences i ever had - Everything was good and great from my side, the only feedback that I have is the race pack as it had the bib belt missing inside. I was in a rush so I couldn't notice until I mounted the bike. The fault is mine for not checking the bag beforehand and report it but it would be great next time if you could distribute the race pack a before the event day to avoid this. ”

“timing service poor - They do not check split times and awarded a medal to a team who did not complete course simply looked at start and finish time. When I questioned post event they said it is because they do not have enough staff ”

“Good inaugural event - Dreadful food at the finish. Bike racks quite cramped. Water on the bike course would have been nice. Late start, could have been earlier. Pretty good crowds and support. Is there a better way of providing water on the run, like the plastic bag system they use in SA? Very difficult to find photos after the event on inphoto ( goes for all of the events they support). Despite all of the above, an enjoyable event and very similar to the Mamzar events. Hope this is of some use”

“A brilliant experience, highly recommend! - My husband and I flew from the UK especially for this event and we really did love it; a morning we will never forget! It was an amazing location and nice not to be diving into a cold lake for once! I think the organisation on the beach could have been better and competitors should have been put in pens before they set off on the swim. A shame that the white t-shirts ran out, especially having travelled so far! Overall, would thoroughly recommend! ”

“Great event, would be better in a warmer month ? - Great event, excellent organisation. Swim starts could be more staggered and the swim route for the smaller juniors should be in shallower water. Junior swimmers should have been seperated by age ( age group was just too big) Amazing family event and perfect for first timers .... but would be far better attended in a warmer month when the sea is warmer .”

“Great event for all levels of triathletes! - Great organization from start to finish! Some points to improve for next edition: add toilets on the run course or near transition or on bike course, swimming category could be split further by age as too many participants in the water at the same time (e.g. during Olympic male mass start), avoid cross of runners/cyclists paths, signage for bike entry and measurement of bike course, ensure enough water on second station of run. Awesome overall experience for all ages, family, lots of fun!”

“Great event with a great course - Fantastic event, lots of fun. Would only complain that there were way too many participants in the water during the swim. Even on the second lap (750m+), people are crawling over each other. When there are that many people taking place, the start needs to be staggered. Otherwise fantastic. ”
