“Stunning location - Fantastic location and well-run event!”

“some confusing parts in the the race course - 1- Swim turns were confusing and not as it looked in the map 2- Bike course: nearly crashed where the cones are,no signage, volunteers not paying much attention to guide the athletes 3- Run course was a bit boring no crowed+ confusing turning points without signage+ the person there was day dreaming not guiding 4- Annoying huge timing chip was sliding off my ankle and wasted time fixing it 5- Volunteers need to be trained in a better to guide athletes instead of daydreaming, use lights sticks”

“Bad time of the day conflict with Friday prayer - 1. Kids race timing was so bad, it is by law that no event should take place during the Friday prayer time. 2. The cone in Bike course for Kids 5.5K were not in right place and my son had to ride 600m until one of the organizer get him back to the course. This was ridiculous as he was the 1st in the race and no one accompany him from the organizer as normal practice. 3. The event pack collection has different pips in the same pack, the chip was right number 382 but the tattoo was 385.”

“Great atmosphere, timing service can be improved - Great atmosphere, great facilities, feels like a party. Race village is a cosy place to hang out. Confusion about no. of laps in the super sprint. Also, swim laps turnaround point unclear, no orange buoy at the end., race briefer not willing to repeat instructions. Missing T1 and T2 timings which form part of the race and cannot be omitted. Registration was per age group, but results all combined. Can these still be provided?”

“Overall a good race - I liked the rollling start. Missing some isotonic drinks during the run. One of the turns on the bike (after the second long straight and before arriving the Marina area) was a bit too closed. We couldn't find the results after the race. Nice set up for the people watching.”

“Fantastic Setting and Race. Admin could be better - Second time racing here. Fantastic setting, and great atmosphere around the swim start (and finish). Rolling swim start was great addition this year. Great fun racing the F1 circuit too! It would be nice if the run circuit could somehow incorporate the crowd/race village a bit more. So many spectators there, but they only get to see the last 20 metres of the run which doesn't really make sense. Pre race comms and info as well as race timing could be greatly improved, otherwise great event!”

“Great Course- poor administration, timing etc - Awesome place to do a triathlon. Well laid out in the most. Easy to get to, easy to park and great for spectators in the main. Pre race information abysmal - 3 different sets of information- sign up, pre race booklet and race briefing. Much confusion in preparation and in the race. Timing was a joke, missed a bike lap (DQ'd - no explanation) no T1 - T2 splits so time means nothing. Premier event in region - better timing Al Hudayriat events. Swim to bike transition was dangerous - metal grate.”

“Great event for family - Hat down to the organiser for making this great event which is very family friendly. The food and entertainment on Thursday and Friday were great. There were a couple of things which could be done better; no official communication where to see the results and pictures, no age group results only overall available. Definitely would come back next year. ”

“Tri Yas is one of my favourite events in the UAE - I was surprised by a few things that were not up to the normal high standard: 1. Timing. There were no transition times in our timings. So it is hard to see the true results. Also I believe there were a number of errors -including my husbands swim time which made no sense at all. 2. Results. No age group results, only overall 3. Trophies and awards - trophies much smaller than previous years. Any my 2nd place medal is the same as a finishers medal but with a different lanyard”

“Overall great experience but some key suggestions> - Suggestions for next year: briefing just before race is a must to ensure all know what to do; add some carbs to run water stations; waves start should be earlier in the day to avoid cold/wind; train marshals to ensure folks are abiding by the rules (at least 20-30 people in 31-40 men’s olympic dodged the first orange turn buoy); keep pontoon start; timing was great (maybe time the transitions?). Food service on Thursday evening was amazing.”

“Struggled to get event info. - Although I was able to successfully complete, I did not recieve any additional information prior to the event. I figured i would have gotten more information but had to use what I know from TrainYAS website and other participating. I would have liked an email with the package info, the heat times, and etc. I have yet to see the pictures or the timed results, again I think this could be better communicated via email. ”

“Great event - Great venue, fairly well organised. Suggestions for next year: bike race should be ride on the right, this is not UK, few knew the rule + it resulted in overtaking mess; add some transition racks for comfort, male sprint 41-50 was missing; briefing just before race is a must; add some carbs to run water stations; waves start should target last race finishing while still light, I was the last wave and it was too cold running wet at night; train marshals; keep swim start and timing it was great.”

“Results - I found the event good again, however, the results breakdown is poor, why are you not using premier timing? There is no split of age categories, no transition timings and overall it's a poor layout and analysis”

“Awesome event; overall best triathlon of season. - A really great event. By far the best of the season to date. The rolling swim start was perfect. All courses were really great; scenery was amazing. Signs on run course were good. About the only thing that would have made the triathlon better was if on the bike course the sign where it says “continued laps / finish” would have had a reminder of the number of laps for each type of race. I was able to remember but second guessed my self a couple of times as I was focusing on racing. Great job!”

“Poorly organised and basics missing - What could be a great event is badly let down by almost every Marshall not being trained and giving inconsistent information, during the races transition remains open allowing other athletes the chance to rack their bikes in the space of athletes on the course causing huge issues when the returning athletes come back to transition, this ruined the race. There is also little or no viewing after the swim start. Really disappointed in how this event is run ”

“Disappointing - A malfunctioning time chip gave me a DNS. The results are hard to read and from a number of people I have heard they are inaccurate. Very disappointing. I’d like my money back. Never will I race this again. ”

“Signages on course and distance info - Information of supersprint cycle distance (lap) is different from the website and on the venue itself. One said 1 lap the latter said 2. That’s amateur work. I did 2 and my sister 1. Who is right? I think both of us are as we both follow the direction given. Would be helpful if they put a sign on the the course as we come to the lap how many should each category to do”
