“Received an email requesting money for a UAE Licence, when questioned PremierOnline instead of helping pass the buck to the authorities, very unhelpful. It transpires on picking up my registration pack a licence isn't required. Clearly you don't know what's going on....”

“Great new route. Guidance was very good. Although T1 was long, it was perfectly arranged. Nice merchandise, thrilling atmosphere. Perhaps because of the wide spread area of everything, it was more difficult to meet your friends. And it's epensive.”

“Disappointed by the lats minute change o the bike race. T1 transition was also too long in the pave. Difficult to families to follow the different stages as no clear indications to locate the Biking area. Bag drop or facilities to be provided near by the swimming zone. Also a shaded zone for athletes to be provided given the start at 10 or 1pm of the community races... The rest was OK and appreciate the work of the volunteers ”

“A race I loved for years...it feels that the organization could have done more.to ensure the hydration of athletes within the bike and running legs. Really disappointing in this area. Rest was juat ok considering what athletes are paying for their entry.”

“The event itself was good. The lack of information in the lead up meant I almost missed the registration. Usually, events send an email a week or two in advance with race details, athlete info etc. For this one, we were expected to go to the event website and dig out these documents and read through a lot of info to find the specifics. A quick email with the main details would really help in future. Even some links. ”

“Disapounted that the traffic situation getting to the event was badly managed. We arrived in a traffic Q at 10am & one of our party could not take part as she was stuck in the car for 2hours because the previous races were blocking the road. So very disapointing for her. We had to walk from the traffic jam to the event. The bike course was then later changed to sort this road problem out - refuced to 6k so again disapointing. We feel a refund for our participants lost place shoukd be made. ”

“Great event however pre-race communication dreadful - no bib numbers on website, no map showing where bike racking was, no communication an AD triathlon licence was required, supersprint at 1pm so very hot and at the last minute the 10km bike in the supersprint was changed to 6km! Why couldn’t we complete a 3rd loop to make 9km?? But still thoroughly enjoyed it ”

“A lot of races on but main issue organization very poor. Courses needed to be clearer. People lost in transition. Crossing road intersection in bare feet on tarmac. Crossing of paths, long time in transition. Changing the bike course at the time of the swim. Adding additional races a few weeks beforehand. Separate issue was the elite ladies had four separate crashes at the 180 hairpin involving multiple riders including one rider twice. Maybe dust on cobble but needs to revised ”

“All went well from bike check in to check out. Water stations were good. All volunteers did a great job. Was not very happy when I was charged for the UAE Triathlon lisence. Could have informed us when we signed up. ”

“Running to transition zone over 500m on paving was long. It could be better if it is on soft surface or short similar to adults.”

“One of the most expensive races in the UAE and the community athletes, who probably funded lot towards the race, were not recognized at awards ceremony. Will not participate again as clearly this is an event for the World Champ invites only”

“Timing was really bad for an OT.. it needs to be earlier in the day. Transition area too far from swimming area. 10 km running route was extremely poorly signposted…”

“Globaly organisation was good. But for the sprint, last minute modification of the swim ride, and during the run, no boding informing where to Strat the second loop. When you don't have blacesses to read the sign it is not easy. Thanks any way for the good job ”

“Everything was absolutely perfect. Well organised and executed. Only comment I would make is that the Yas Drive road should have been completely closed and Yasisland residents notified before the weekend. For Ansam residents turn left only on one side of road in and out. For Yas Acres only allow left turns. Other road by Warner Bros should also have been closed. Did not inspect me, but I saw several posts from Ansam residents about the road closure ( lack of notice).. everything else.✅? t”

“Poor communication from race organizers prior to the race. Layout of the race didn’t really make sense. No support stations on bike course, good stations on run. For the entry fee amount its a let down. Won’t do it again in future. ”

“the transition was so bad running on concrete to the T1 and T2 was just as bad changing the bike course at the last minute ........ and going down the line to get off the cycle was even worse not clearly seeing where to transition..... it was the grittiest course ever........ really disappointed with the course”

“The kids winners didn't get any prizes, not even a small podium celebration....my brother got the 1st place and it was like nothing happened.....he should have received some official congratulations, a box of chocolate and a celebration on the podium.”

“Information was difficult to find. When found there was far too much waffle rather than helpful info & info had to carefully extracted from reems of waffle. It was better speaking with others as official channels were unhelpful. Getting into the event to try & recce it was an epic. Roads were closed, no alternative routes etc. Ended up doing my recce at 7am on race day. The event is just far to spread out. Previously when this race was held in the F1 stadium it was a lot better”

“Yas bay is definitely not suitable . Kids bike transition for 9-11 should have been at the nearby parking lot not so far ( running 500 m to transition for a race with 1.5m run was just not fair) ”

“Loved the event but very disappointed there was no podiums for the kids. These evens should be used to encourage children. Lots all waiting by the biggest podium Ive ever seen only to be told they are not important enough to have their time after all their efforts. Adults have podiums why not the next generation? Its these kids who will be competing in years to come.”

“No awards for the non-federation athletes, Last minute changes, and horrible control of the cars coming through, incident of a vehicle ALMOST hitting a kid, it was in the middle of the day, and they had to run a distance of 500 meters on the hard ground with a barely covering that didn't even cover when crossing the street barefoot! Having to pay so much money for ridiculous insurance and to pay to SUPPORT the UAE and wear their colors. Ridiculous. ”

“I did the very first ITU when it was at Emirates palace and the corniche and have been with it as over the years it has moved venues. This...by far...is the worst venue ever. Spectators cannot see the bike or run and everything about this race has become about the pros rather than the Community here in Abu Dhabi that keep this event and other ones alive in the region. Pandering to the pros has become the norm and it is at the expense of everyday athletes that keep the sport alive in AD. ”
