But the 9K board still confused and I believe i missed 2kms in between and mentally quitted from the race. When reached the finishing point they again asked me to run again a 2kms loop. “Dear ADSC team, Thank you for organizing the run. I have participated in every run in Abu Dhabi for the past couple of years and now in the Masters Veteran group. The run yesterday had some challenges: I reached the roundabout of Officers club at 06:10 about 4 minutes from the venue but was diverted by the traffic staff and then it was 14 minutes drive. Not to conversant with the area I was annoyed as I don’t like loosing my way especially when you have a deadline. I then parked in the mosque ”

“There needs to be signage on the course for the 10k. I went the wrong way with hundreds of other runners and therefore did not complete the full distance which was very disappointing. All big races normally have kilometre markers ie 1km, 2km which would have made it easier to work out where to go. Just as importantly having toilets at the start for next time is essential! “This was very poor. No water available pre race and the toilet situation was ridiculous. Only 5 unisex cubicles for hundreds of people and no water in them. They were filthy amd covered in faeces. Also, the 2nd lap of the race for 10km went through the 5k finish and was dangerous and not clearly marked. I was marked as did not finish which was a joke as I ran the race. Also my tracker said the race was only 9.5km.”

“The signaling of the different routes (particularly 10 k) was not clear at all. I have the feeling that many of us didn't complete the intended path. The accessing to the parking was quite unfriendly for pedestrians. On the positive side, I loved to run around the Grand Mosque, and all the staff and volunteers were really friendly and helpful.”

“Where to start with this event! We arrived before the roads were set to closed, but they were already closed so unable to get to the allocated parking. The race didn’t start till 7:45, by which time it had warmed right up. The race was a farce, being sent wrong in the first km. this resulted in us crossing the finish line in around 6km and the chip timing being stopped. Some runners ran 8k, I ran 10.76, some ran 12k. There was no water on the second (made up) lap. It was chaos!”

“Disaster of a race, the 10km course was completely messed up, all because the lead safety car took the runners the wrong way, and marshals then didn’t correct anyone. Everyone ended up doing completely different routes and distances. The race village was ok in terms of what it had, but very poor signage made it difficult to know where to go or what to do. It was good to have several options for parking, but again there was lots of confusion about this and it led to a lot of traffic.”

In almost all events , longer distance should flag off first ”

“Exciting event, lovely bunch of runners and staff. You need to have marked routes and officials - those are basics when it comes to a running event. Longer distances must start first, but more importantly the athletes who were on the bikes should have gone before all other athletes, it was very dangerous having them fly past the runners on such narrow roads. When such big prize money is on the line, you need to have more than one tracking point, it can’t just be start and finish for timing in. ”

“It was not organized the routs for 10 k will not well marked, many of the 10 k racers were lost and ran longer or shorter distance. with all the races the longest distance start first, however 10 k started the last when it was extremely sunny and crowded with the 3 and 5 k and kids . The heroes the paraolymic didn’t have special route so they were struggling to pass through the busy routs It is sad that This race had the name of our father zayed and it should have been better represented ”

“Absolute chaos. Cash prizes going to people who either cheated or inadvertently went the wrong way and ran a lesser distance. Again signage was inadequate and many runners didn’t know where to go. The woman who got 1st in the 50+ age group ran the 5k in 17 mins. Which is not even possible. People in the 20+ and 30+ age groups can’t run that fast! So completely disappointed with this event.”

SAFETY: event was poorly managed put the runners at risk by mixing different ages and ddistans and cars were sharing the route. 2. Marshals: not enough marshals to guide runners allng the course. 3. Route: absolute mess. No clear signs and most runners ended doing more distance or less diatance. 4. Results: absolute funny to see breaking world records bybseveral minutes like 10k in 20mins. 5. “Conflicting information on your website about race bib collection. One sentence said no pick up on 19th and only 17/18 as also per text message from Premier on line. Then another sentence said it might be possible to collect on morning of 19th- Not clear at all. Roads were not marked well and runners went the wrong way. Juniors (under 18s who came in top three of 3k) were led to a “winners area” and told to wait for a awards. They waited for 2.5 hrs yet no prizes/ medals given to U18.”

“My daughter (12 years old) came 2nd female U18 in the 3km. She was escorted to sit in the winners seats for an hour. Then told to follow a lady to the side of the podium and parents were asked to get her emirates ID. They sat in the sunshine at the side of the podium/stage for an hour while the prize giving was on. They were then told atvthe end of the prize giving there wasn’t any prizes for them and they didn’t go in the podium. What a waste of time, they left dissapointed. ”

“Organization was disgraceful. 10km was guided the wrong way by marshals. Kids who won their age groups were taken to an area to be told to wait for the prize presentation. After 1.5 hours were then told to leave. No water in the Sun. The results were completely wrong. Clear and obvious winners were not on the results. Embarrassing for what has the potential to be an amazing race. ”

“Please improve your marshalling. Also have bikes that knows the route to guide the front runners. These two things are vital in high stake races. There was also no proper km sign boards. Im not sure what hapened with the results, but its obviously not correct. ”

“It wasn’t bad it was honestly it was alright but people might used alot more water stations than 2 in 3km I really had fun in the Race because I didn’t care about anything else except for the Race so yeah it wasn’t even a half bad Event, but please in the next race try to use a straight line race with out letting us walk up a bridge or anything high because it’s hard when you are tired.”

“It was poa organised like 3km the top guys was removed and given wrong timing and positions and that is not fear we leave it to God,we followed the route you provided which was 2.95”

“There were no signs or banners during the 10 km race along the race’s route which made me lose track of the route many times. I stopped three times together with a group of runners to ask where to run which affected my timing and pace a lot. It was mentioned in the premieronline website that there will be three water stations but in fact I saw only one at the 5th kilometer. A big four by four vehicle was about to crush me while I was running around the final lap which caused me such a fright. ”

You did not have sufficient monitors to prevent cheating by people not running the accurate 10k route. The actual route was not accurate as it should only have been 10k and not 10.88k. My time was registered as if I ran 10k along with those who in reality only ran 7.5k- this is not fair playing field. how does someone improve by 20min in two weeks?! You ran out of bananas too. ”
